Haven't checked up on Howie's music for a while... it's good to see he's still working on it.

I agree about the studio "Be There"... it seems more of a glimpse of the song's potential live. "40 Hours", though- really, really like. It has a wistful, folky feel that reminds me of the Australia days. Perfect balance between acoustic and the added instrumentation...

Is it just me, or does "40 Hours" remind you of Matt Nathanson's "Angel"? The guitar riff at the beginning certainly sounds similar to me.

Hmmm...it's interesting to see such varied opinions about the EP. Be there was too "peppy" to be great for me. But I'll always love that song. I was really digging the other more mellow stuff. I guess this will have a little something for everyone then hopefully. Justin...the cell phone remark...priceless! HAHA. It has always been one of my favorite lines and now I'll always think about that when I hear it.

Really? you guys like this ultra "peppy" version of 'be there'? I think it's way too up-tempo. I do enjoy some of what was added to it---it's more layered and a lot of the details on this version are beautiful--- but overall, it just feels so rushed--way too upbeat. I love the original version of the song, soooo much, and this version just feels distorted in comparison. I've only heard the song that's on the howieday.com pg., haven't yet gotten the EP,...

I like "Be There". Haven't gotten around to listening to the other yet.

I too hope he records "After You" finally. I really was happy at the last show I went to when he played it the way I always liked. He was playing it really fast and upbeat for a while and I just wasn't fond of that.

Really really like what he did with Be There. I too am an old fan of Be There and am happy to hear a nice peppy version of the song...."Just who are those names on your cell phone anyway?"....my wife had to ask me that exact question and the funny thing is, some of those names were people from the HDTB (namely you, Jax!!)! Ironic, no?
The other two songs I'm meh with because they are a little too slow for me these days....I've been listening to a lot of old...

Listening now. Be there was one of my fave songs back in the day...reserving my thoughts on that for later. I'm really liking 40 hours. Haven't listened to Counting on me yet.

Hey Guys - The boards seem pretty quiet, at least from what I'm used to years ago....

But what about this new EP? I'm excited there's something new! I can't believe I hadn't heard about this!! I just downloaded it on iTunes, pretty sweet...

Looks like the album art also says Album available August 25, which is super exciting!

I can't wait! Also, can't wait for what will be an awesome tour! Any word on that so far? Hope he comes...
