Well, I remember now why I can't stand children. And by children I mean those who have yet to realize it's not cool to
look like everyone else, think like everyone else, and act like everyone else. The pack mentality get REALLY old when displayed by drunk teens who insist on
chanting "third eye blind" during HD's set, clapping off beat, and shouting "boo" or "you suck" in between. I felt like I
was back at an o.a.r. gig again (for those that remember THAT tour).....
As to be expected, no good stories or quirky moments. He did try his best, but there's no beating a mob of insecure pricks.
Set list was something like - She Says, Sorry (with loops), Brace Yourself, Ghost - Beams (cut super short b/c they didn't get it), Longest Night, Sound the Alarm, Collide (to cheers and a singalong), and he closed with a song I'd never heard. Over the throng I could only barely make out something to the effect of "Count on Me" in the chorus. There might have been more; my memory sucks.
Passionate, soulful, and clearly disenchanted. I personally prefer the angry version of Brace which would've been totally appropriate tonight, but alas we got the sensitive singer songwriter version instead. Glad my two faves of the new songs were played, and I dug the last one - whatever it was. If it was a cover, I want to find the original. If it's an original, I wanna hear it again.
